Greater Drone – Character Concept – Progress Post

Made some progress with this character concept, added more tubules and details.

Greater Drone – Character Concept

This is a character i’m concepting right now called the Greater Drone, I hope you like it, he’ll be disgusting.

note: This is very early and incomplete concept and should serve only as a milestone to compare to furthur progress posts.

Taj Mahal – Structure Model

Here is a model I made of the Taj Mahal for an Interior Worlds and Spaces class, the whole thing comes out to about 30k tris. Still have some seams to fix, and optimizing to do on some high-budget pieces and large repeating textures, but its near complete.

Here it is again, in the Unity3d Engine, the water-environment is a simple construct i use to display unity3d work:

Burninator – Character Model

Here is a simple robot build from its first technical and color concept to near final model and texture.

These are the first technical orthographic concepts of the robot, unnamed at this point during the build.

And here is the first color concept, basically a paint-over of the front-view technical orthographic:

The first build of the robot, note the poly budget was 3k for the whole model, while this rings it at roughly 1.8k

First texture pass:

And here is the latest build of the robot, minus teg tubules and pose.

Here are the primary texture sheets, diffuse, specular, and normal. I’ve excluded the glow map:

DVD Cover Paintings

So as per a requirement of a portfolio class I’m taking, I’ve created a number of dvd covers for a portfolio dvd I’ll be handing out at graduation. Below is my progression from original concept to final print for the time being. Click each for a larger resolution.

Note each is originally created at 4000×4000, 300dpi.

Patient Zero: Rebirth – Mod

Now that I have found new motivation to pursue a project of greater meaning outside of the usual classwork, once again will I be returning to work on a project of mine that has long been in the works, Project Zero:

Project Zero or Patient Zero – an idea originally conceived in 2007 was a modification for the Unreal 3 Engine to be built by my fellow classmates at the Art Institute of Seattle.  Due to a number of unforeseeable complications throughout early concept stages, the project for the most part has been frozen.

Today I will begin salvaging what I can from the first attempt and putting it toward an entirely new build.
